In Focus: Resourcing ending violence against women and girls programming globally
Women’s rights organizations receive only 0.13% of the total Official Development Assistance and 0.4% of all gender-related aid [1] .
It is well known that to effectively move the needle on ending violence against women and girls, long-term work and sustainable investments are needed to achieve transformative change in the lives of women and girl survivors and the institutions and norms that surround them. For nearly three decades, empowering and investing in women’s rights and civil society organizations have been at the heart of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women’s (UN Trust Fund) mandate. To make this a reality, the UN Trust Fund deeply commits to listening and learning to the voices, experiences and expertise of women’s rights and civil society partners to drive our strategies forward, to end violence against women and girls (EVAW/G).
In 2024, the UN Trust Fund hosts a series of interactive virtual and in-person events to distill practice-based insights and amplify voices from civil society organizations on the cross-cutting impacts of funding and EVAW/G programming globally.
