Nepal Disabled Women Association implemented a three-year project, “Inclusive Partnership Against Violence Among Women and Girls with Disability’ (InPAV)”, with the support of the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to increase community awareness and capacity to combat violence against women and girls with disabilities (WGWD), strengthen governance and gender-based violence mechanisms, and improve knowledge and evidence on violence against WGWD to influence policies and programmes. The final evaluation found that the project helped service providers and decision-makers to sensitively address the needs of WGWD survivors of violence, and influenced policymakers to promote WGWD’s access to support and resources.

The Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Center for Women (ARROW) implemented a three-year project, “Prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls with disabilities in Bangladesh (PROVA)”, with the support of the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to ensure access to justice for women and girls living with disabilities who face violence, abuse, neglect, discrimination and exploitation. The final evaluation found that the project had enhanced awareness and knowledge of, and support for, disability rights, while effectively addressing abuse and improving the reproductive health of women and girls living with disabilities.

In the State of Palestine, the Stars of Hope Society implemented the "HEMAYA” project in partnership with the Social and Economic Policies Monitor (Al-Marsad) with the support of the UN Trust Fund for over three years in 2018-2022. The project aimed to support women and girls with disabilities who were survivors of violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to safely access adequate and appropriate support services. The final evaluation found that the project’s strategy was highly relevant and achieved significant changes for women and girls with disabilities. 

In Cambodia, ADD International implemented the three-year project “Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities in Cambodia: A Community Mobilisation Model” with the support of the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to prevent and end violence against women and girls with disabilities. The final evaluation found that the project was successfully implemented and was a model for applying a community-based approach to programming.

Cambodia Women’s Crisis Center, in partnership with ADD International, implemented the project “Promoting Women’s Dignity” with support from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The project aimed to improve quality service delivery, develop policy and promote positive changes in attitudes in five provinces.

The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women funded “Addressing Violence Against Syrian Refugee Women in the Kurdistan Region of Northern Iraq”, a project implemented by Women for Women International . The project aimed to support women affected by conflict, including Syrian refugees, members of the host community, and internally displaced populations in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. The evaluation found that the project was effective and improved the lives of the intended beneficiaries.

As a part of a six-year project, the Victims Support Section of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, in collaboration with the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Cambodia and the Cambodian Defenders Project, implemented Phase 2 of the Non-Judicial Gender Project. The final evaluation concluded that the project significantly contributed to positive change in the lives of target groups through transitional justice activities and initiatives to improve their access to psychological services and rehabilitation.

War Child Canada implemented the project “Safeguarding Women and Girls Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Jordan” from June 2017 to May 2019 with support from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The final evaluation found that the project empowered women and girls in Sahab and Nuzha (Amman) to better access available protection and support services, improved their well-being and coping skills, and increased their awareness of their rights.

The Institute for Development and Community Health in Viet Nam implemented the initiative “Prevention of Intimate Partner Violence against Pregnant and Lactating Women” in Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province, from January 2016 to December 2018 with funding from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The final evaluation found that the project improved knowledge, attitudes and behaviour in pregnant and lactating mothers, and increased the ability of communities and families to prevent violence.

The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women provided funds for the project “Enhancing Responses to Violence Against Women and Girls in Cambodia” from January 2016 to December 2018. The goal was to make women feel safer and for survivors of violence to have better access to social and legal services. The final evaluation noted the improved attitude of service providers towards survivors.

The project “Combating Gender Based Violence”, implemented by the Psycho-social Counselling Center for Women in collaboration with QADER for Community Development and Almuntada, was funded from January 2015 to December 2017 by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The final evaluation concluded that the project had empowered women and girls to talk about issues of violence both within and outside the family context.
