The Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Center for Women (ARROW) implemented a three-year project, “Prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls with disabilities in Bangladesh (PROVA)”, with the support of the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to ensure access to justice for women and girls living with disabilities who face violence, abuse, neglect, discrimination and exploitation. The final evaluation found that the project had enhanced awareness and knowledge of, and support for, disability rights, while effectively addressing abuse and improving the reproductive health of women and girls living with disabilities.

Mujeres Transformando el Mundo in Guatemala implemented the project “Access to justice and empowerment of women, adolescents and girls with disabilities and victims of violence” between September 2018 and February 2022 with support from the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to improve access to justice as well as political and social empowerment of girls, adolescents and women; Indigenous and mixed-race people; and survivors of sexual violence, forced sterilization and forced motherhood. The final evaluation found that the main objectives of the project were accomplished.

LEGIS (Asociación para el desarrollo legislativo y la democracia) implemented the three-year project “Preventing and eliminating violence against women and girls with disabilities, and promoting their access to justice” between 2019 and 2022 with the support of the UN Trust Fund. The project aimed to establish and strengthen human, legal and procedural conditions that facilitate access to justice for the protection of women and girls with disabilities against all forms of violence and discrimination. The final evaluation found that the project achieved important goals, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the lack of political will to address the need of legislative and normative harmonization.

Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha implemented the project “Safe Schools Safe Communities” between January 2014 and December 2016 with grant support from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The final evaluation found that the project succesfully addressed the specific needs of girls to allow them to be empowered and protected from gender-based violence in their schools and community.

The project “Prevention and Reduction of Sexual Violence among Women Sex Workers in Guatemala” was implemented by Fundació Privada Sida i Societat with support from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. The final evaluation found that the project had empowered women with regards to sexual and reproductive rights.
