Amplifying Voices of UNTF Grantees: Women for Afghan Women

Funded by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, Women for Afghan Women (WAW) works to improve access to essential, safe and adequate multisectoral services for internally displaced and returnee women and girls in Afghanistan, including those who are survivors or at risk of violence. It also works to increase survivors’ access to and ability to engage with economic opportunities. On 15 August 2021, the Taliban entered Kabul and took the city, and the lives of Afghan women and girls began to change. WAW's female staff can no longer work, leaving many Afghan women and girls once again at heightened risk of violence. At the UN Official Commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, WAW gave an important intervention and a powerful testimony on the current context and lives of Afghan women and girls.Join us in supporting WAW by spreading the message and contributing to their work with #Give25forUNTF25: https://bit.ly/give25challenge
